| Summary, etc. | Esta publicación identifica el rol de la infraestructura digital en el logro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) –que abarcan educación, empleo, sostenibilidad agrícola, seguridad alimentaria y desigualdad espacial– en 12 países de América Latina y el Caribe. En sus páginas se identifica una brecha entre los resultados alcanzados para cada ODS en los países estudiados y los logrados en los países de la OCDE. Además, la región tiene un largo camino que recorrer todavía para llegar a las metas de los ODS de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. Los autores explican cómo la inversión en infraestructura digital puede ayudar a cerrar las brechas entre la región y estos dos escenarios de referencia (países de la OCDE y metas de los ODS). También cuantifican la inversión en telecomunicaciones realizada en la región entre 2008 y 2017, y estiman el monto que aún se necesita para ayudar a cerrar las brechas mencionadas. |
