| Summary, etc. | Las ciudades de todo el mundo buscan cada vez más estrategias de transformación digital para seguir el ritmo del rápido desarrollo de las tecnologías emergentes y satisfacer las necesidades de los residentes de la ciudad, mientras trabajan para mitigar o gestionar los efectos de las crisis globales. Si bien las tasas de acceso a Internet son dos veces más altas en las áreas urbanas que en las rurales y es más probable que las ciudades tengan una cobertura de red móvil casi universal y de mayor calidad en comparación con las áreas rurales, estas estadísticas solo cuentan una parte de la historia. La pandemia de COVID-19, las crisis climática y política, los conflictos, el desplazamiento forzado y la profundización de la desigualdad económica han exacerbado y ampliado aún más las brechas digitales existentes, lo que dificulta el acceso a la digitalización de las comunidades sistemáticamente marginadas y excluidas. |
