| Summary, etc. | Mobile Connectivity Index Methodology 2025 expone el marco conceptual que sustenta el GSMA Mobile Connectivity Index (MCI), un índice que evalúa los factores habilitadores de la conectividad móvil global. Parte del reconocimiento de que cerrar la brecha digital no depende únicamente de la cobertura de redes, sino también de aspectos como la asequibilidad, competencias, seguridad y disponibilidad de contenido.<br/><br/>La metodología se basa en cuatro pilares: infraestructura (cobertura de redes), asequibilidad (precios de datos y dispositivos en relación con el ingreso), preparación del consumidor (conciencia y habilidades digitales) y contenido y servicios relevantes. Los indicadores se seleccionan siguiendo criterios de relevancia, precisión, cobertura y continuidad, alineados con estándares de la OCDE y el Centro de Investigación Conjunta de la UE. Los datos se normalizan, ponderan y agregan para ofrecer una medida global comparable entre 170 países.<br/><br/>En definitiva, el MCI se presenta como una herramienta de diagnóstico estratégico, ya que sus puntuaciones correlacionan positivamente con la adopción de internet móvil. Esta herramienta permite identificar prioridades para políticas públicas y acciones sectoriales, orientadas a impulsar una conectividad móvil más inclusiva y significativa en todo el mundo. |
