Con más de dos mil millones de suscripciones en solo cinco años, su despliegue ha sido el más rápido de la historia. Sin embargo, gran parte de estas redes aún no aprovechan todas sus capacidades, lo que limita el acceso a su potencial completo. Para lograrlo, es necesario avanzar hacia infraestructuras más robustas que permitan baja latencia, automatización a gran escala y segmentación avanzada de redes, habilitando servicios más innovadores.<br/><br/>El estudio introduce el Índice de Madurez de la Infraestructura Móvil, que mide la preparación de los países para integrar el 5G en sectores estratégicos. Casos como puertos, hospitales, fábricas o minería muestran que la combinación de 5G con inteligencia artificial, edge computing y robótica incrementa la productividad, genera nuevas cadenas de valor y refuerza la competitividad. Aquellos países que impulsan de manera decidida el despliegue de estas capacidades consolidan ventajas económicas y tecnológicas sostenibles frente a los rezagados.<br/><br/>La conclusión del informe es clara: el verdadero éxito del 5G no reside en el número de conexiones, sino en su integración profunda en el tejido productivo. Infraestructura, políticas y difusión tecnológica deben avanzar de forma coordinada para garantizar crecimiento inclusivo, cerrar brechas digitales y preparar el terreno hacia el 6G, que definirá el liderazgo económico y geopolítico de la próxima década, consolidando también la soberanía digital. |
