| Summary, etc. | El informe explica, con lenguaje directo, qué está pasando con los centros de datos (CD) en Europa. Son básicos para la nube y la IA, pero su crecimiento choca con la red eléctrica: tardan en conectarse, bloquean capacidad y aumentan el consumo. El objetivo del documento es claro: proponer reglas sencillas y coordinadas para que los CD dejen de ser un tapón y pasen a ayudar al sistema energético y a la competitividad europea.<br/><br/>El hallazgo central: la eficiencia por sí sola no basta, porque la demanda seguirá subiendo con la IA. Aun así, integrados de forma inteligente, los centros de datos pueden aportar flexibilidad a la red (baterías, mover cargas a horas valle, contratos con renovables y reutilización de calor). Además, pide medir mejor su aportación real y no solo el PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), la métrica que relaciona la energía total consumida por el centro de datos con la energía usada por el equipo TI: cuanto más se acerca a uno, mejor eficiencia energética indica. Muchos retrasos vienen de permisos lentos y reservas de capacidad que luego no se usan, lo que genera cuellos de botella artificiales.<br/><br/>Las recomendaciones son prácticas: permisos más rápidos y homogéneos, suelos “listos para conectar”, tarifas que premien ubicar cargas donde conviene, más transparencia en energía y agua, y coordinación entre reguladores energéticos y digitales a nivel europeo. Si se hace así, los CD pueden facilitar más renovables, reforzar la soberanía digital y atraer inversión, sin poner en riesgo los objetivos climáticos.<br/> |
