| Summary, etc. | El Índice Latinoamericano de Inteligencia Artificial 2025 mide el estado de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en 19 países de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) con 3 dimensiones (Factores habilitantes; I+D y adopción; Gobernanza) y más de 100 subindicadores. El objetivo es orientar políticas basadas en datos y detectar brechas en infraestructura digital, talento, datos y marcos institucionales. La edición de 2025 incorpora más foco en adopción (incluida IA generativa) y calidad de uso, y advierte que la región invierte muy por debajo de su peso económico en IA.<br/><br/>Algunos de los hallazgos clave son: el “despertar” de adoptantes tardíos (Ecuador, Costa Rica, R. Dominicana, Guatemala); oportunidad del código abierto; muchos datos pero poca disponibilidad; base amplia de alfabetización pero poca especialización; fuerte concentración del cómputo (Brasil >90% de HPC), aunque GPUs per cápita favorecen a Uruguay, Costa Rica y Colombia; auge de la IA generativa con ALC como tercera región en descargas (15–20%); gobernanza con “mucho plan y poca acción”; y necesidad urgente de integrar sostenibilidad en centros de datos. Los pioneros regionales son Chile, Brasil y Uruguay.<br/><br/>Para convertir la IA en motor de productividad e inclusión se requiere abrir y estandarizar datos; ampliar el talento avanzado (posgrados, doctorados) y las habilidades tempranas; escalar cómputo (nube/HPC/GPU) y conectividad (fija, móvil, 5G); y pasar de estrategias a ejecución con presupuesto, métricas e interoperabilidad. Se prioriza cooperación regional y uso responsable (seguridad, privacidad, ética) para acelerar adopción pública y empresarial sin agravar brechas.<br/> |
