| Summary, etc. | "El informe propone una metodología para seleccionar sustancias que deben incorporarse a la lista de vigilancia de aguas subterráneas de la Unión Europea. Elaborado por el Centro Común de Investigación de la Comisión Europea, se enmarca en la revisión de la Directiva Marco del Agua y de la Directiva de Aguas Subterráneas. Su objetivo es mejorar la detección temprana de contaminantes emergentes y generar evidencia para decidir si conviene fijar normas europeas de calidad para proteger el medio ambiente y la salud humana.<br/><br/>El documento plantea un proceso alineado con la lista de vigilancia de aguas superficiales y basado en tres fuentes de identificación de sustancias y cinco criterios de evaluación. Entre ellos figuran los datos de seguimiento, la persistencia y movilidad en el medio, la peligrosidad, la disponibilidad de valores de concentración segura y la existencia de métodos analíticos adecuados. Además, aplica esta metodología a dos casos de estudio y propone una lista ilustrativa de candidatos, incluyendo antibióticos, fungicidas, compuestos industriales y otros contaminantes de interés.<br/><br/>El informe concluye que una metodología común y más coherente ayudaría a reforzar el seguimiento de contaminantes emergentes en aguas subterráneas y a mejorar la coordinación regulatoria europea. También subraya la importancia de integrar criterios científicos, datos comparables y herramientas analíticas fiables para priorizar sustancias y anticipar riesgos ambientales en un contexto de creciente presión sobre los recursos hídricos."<br/> |
