Este es el informe de fondo del Panel 1.1 "Beneficios económicos y sociales de la apertura a Internet" de la Reunión Ministerial de la OCDE sobre la Economía Digital, 21-23 de junio de 2016, Cancún (México). Presenta un marco para entender y analizar la apertura a Internet, los factores que la influyen y sus efectos. También presenta evidencia inicial cualitativa y cuantitativa sobre los efectos de la apertura de Internet sobre el comercio, la innovación y el espíritu empresarial, el desempeño macroeconómico y el bienestar social.

This is the background report for Panel 1.1 “Economic and Social Benefits of Internet Openness” of the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Economy, 21-23 June 2016, Cancún (Mexico). It presents a framework for understanding and analysing Internet openness, the factors that influence it, and its effects. It also presents initial qualitative and quantitative evidence on the effects of Internet openness on trade, innovation and entrepreneurship, and macroeconomic performance, and social wellbeing.
