The report analyzes Europe's science, technology and innovation situation in a rapidly changing global context. It presents how public research and innovation policies must be adapted to have greater transformative power and apply to a broad concept of sustainability (social, environmental and economic), while boosting the competitiveness of the European Union. The main messages of the report focus on the contribution of research and innovation to a sustainable, competitive, inclusive, digital and knowledge-based Europe. In addition, it includes 11 public policy recommendations that support the European agenda for people, planet and prosperity.
