  <abstract>Oral diseases affected about 3.5 billion people around the world in 2017. They considerably affect health, well-being and quality of life across the life course, especially where resources for prevention, diagnosis and treatment are limited.

Approaches based on new technologies, such as mHealth, can be used to promote oral health as well as to prevent and control oral disease. The mOralHealth programme aims to contribute to the achievement of better oral health as part of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, including universal health coverage (UHC), as well as to tackle the burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).</abstract>
